BLOG 1: Guangzhou

Guangzhou: Half of me.

I learned about Guangzhou since i was a young girl, because my grandfather is half Chinese and half Panamanian. His father was borned in that city. Guangzhou is the capital city of Guangdong Province in southeast China. It is a major port of the South of China, and it is China's southern gateway to the world

Besides being a key city for world trade, more and more tourists are going to Guangzhou to enjoy new attractions, old temples, and its mild climate. I think Guangzhou combines the best of two worlds, the new and the old. In China people speak two languages: mandarin chinese and cantonese chinese, but in Guangzhou the main language is cantonese chinese, because this language was borned in that city.
An attraction I want to see in Guangzhou is Guang Xiao Temple, it is a one of the first temples of the world and it is still one of the most important Buddhist temples of China.
Other place I want to see is a Canton Tower, It is the main attraction that I would see in the city, it is the second tallest telecommunication tower in the world after Tokyo Skytre. It has 600 metres of height.

One of the reasons that I wish to go is to find out if we still have relatives living in that place. I would like to know more of my origins and about my last name, because "Y" in China does not exist. It means that my last name could be different or maybe it is misspelled. I would like to go with my grandfather because I want him to see where did his father came from.
